Discription

Mplayer is the source media player free and open software. The program is available for all major operating systems, including Linux and other Unix, Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X versions of OS / 2, sections, for the Amiga OS, MorphOS and AROS search system operations are also available. DOS using DJGPP port is also available. Have also been developed versions of the channel beer Wei Amazon Kindle.

Development

Began to develop Mplayer in 2000. The original, and the author of the Hungarian Arpad Gereöffy, began the project because he was unable to find video players satisfactory Linux after that stopped XAnim development in 1999. mpg12play, are integrated with the symbol AVI player on the basis of avifile DLL Win32 charger to form the MPlayer v0.3 in November 2000. Gereöffy soon many other programmers in the beginning, and most of Hungary joined, but at a later time in the world.

Alex kept Beregszászi MPlayer since 2003 when he left to develop Gereöffy Mplayer to start work on the second generation of Mplayer. The project was abandoned currently G2 Mplayer, and the efforts of the entire development in Mplayer 1.0.
MPlayer used to be called "Mplayer - Movie Player for Linux" by the developers, but this was reduced at a later time, "MPlayer - movie player" after commonly used in other operating systems.

Capabilities and classifications

Mplayer can play a variety of media formats, and can also transfer the contents of the register file.
A companion program, MEncoder, can input stream or file encoding in many different output formats, and optionally apply various transformations along the way .......
